Amazing Intro Workshop!

I just finished the Adobe Premiere Pro workshop and it was fantastic! The instructor was super knowledgeable, and I learned so much. I'm definitely signing up for more classes. Can't wait to tell my friends about DCTV!

Consistent camera rentals

I've rented camera equipment from DCTV several times now, and they're always reliable. This last time I got a camera rental for a short film, and like every other time, the gear was in great shape and pickup was smooth. It's why I keep coming back for my projects.

Great workshop, smooth process

I took the documentary filmmaking workshop last month and was really impressed. The registration process online was straightforward, and I got confirmation emails quickly. The instructor was excellent, very hands-on with practical tips. The facility itself was clean and well-equipped. I also used the post-production suite rentals a couple of times after the workshop to work on my project, which was super convenient. My only minor feedback is that parking near DCTV can be a bit tricky in that part of the city, but overall, it was a very positive experience. I feel like I really got my money's worth.

Rented some audio gear

So I needed some audio gear rentals for a quick interview project last week. DCTV had what I needed. Picked it up, everything was there and working. Drop off was easy too, no hassle. Pretty chill experience overall, definitely beats trying to buy all that stuff for one project. Would rent from them again.

Anyone know if DCTV has like, a referral program or any kind of general promo codes floating around, or is it mostly just member stuff?

A Ashley 2 weeks ago
Mostly membership and early bird deals in my experience. Haven't seen many random promo codes myself.

They do early bird registration discounts for workshops sometimes too, so keep an eye out for those. Not always just membership.

Hey, thinking about signing up for one of the editing workshops. Do they do student discounts or anything like that for classes?

L Leah 3 weeks ago
Yeah, they totally do! I got a pretty sweet deal on my cinematography course last semester because I'm still in school.

N Nathan Wright 3 weeks ago
They mention student rates in their FAQs, so I think you're good. Just check their workshop page or when you're registering, it should show up.

Wondering about renting some gear for a shoot next month. How does the membership discount thing work for equipment? Is it automatic?

I Ian Lee 1 week ago
Nah, it's not automatic. You usually get a special code or something to punch in when you're booking the rental online.

I think you get a code when you sign up for membership, then you just apply it at checkout. It was pretty straightforward for me with a camera rental last spring.

If I sign up for a workshop and then something comes up, what's their cancellation policy like? Do I get my money back?

A Ashley B. 1 week ago
I had to cancel once and got a refund, but I think you have to do it by a certain time before the workshop starts. Check their site for the exact deadline.

A Amanda Mitchell 1 week ago
Yeah, they have a policy for that. I'm pretty sure you can get a refund if you cancel early enough, otherwise maybe credit for another class.

considering DCTV for a documentary workshop vs. something at NYFA. Are the DCTV classes really hands-on, or is it more lecture based?

L Linda E. 2 weeks ago
Super hands-on! I took a post-production class and we were always editing. Much more practical than just listening.

Definitely practical. I did a camera operating course there and we were shooting almost every session. Good equipment too.
